Year 3 have been cooking up something ridiculously revolting this week! Whilst exploring the features of recipes from a Roald Dahl inspired cook book, ‘Revolting Recipes’ (in which unusual recipes from his books come to life) Year 3 have been making their very own ‘Putrid Pea Pie’. The children weighed out the flour, butter and salt they would need to make the tasty pastry and cooked their mini pie bases. For the pie filling, they made some grotesquely green jelly and added some putrid peas to finish, using their knowledge of measurements to help them. The results were virtually vile! Next, they’ll be creating a Roald Dahl inspired story to accompany their disgusting desserts!
