Golden Book – 11.9.15
This week we have been thrilled with how well the Year 1 children have settled into their new classrooms with their new teachers. They are setting a fine example to the new Reception children and two children in particular have made it to the Golden Book for their efforts. Well done to Lewis for his exceptional efforts in his writing this week. Miss Robb and Mr Perry have been impressed with the care he has taken with his learning. Also, Lola has been showing brilliant behaviour which the Reception children have been imitating which is brilliant to see. Well done!

The children in Year 1 have been supporting the children settling into their new classes in Reception. They have been showing them how to behave on the playground and in the dining hall and also how to be successful learners by listening well and trying your best. Ayla in Lavender class and Nina in Jasmine class have both made it to the Golden Book this week for putting in 100% effort into their home learning which was beautifully presented and recalled to their class mates. Well done!

In year 1 the children have been learning about non-fiction texts over the last few weeks and this week was their chance to make their own about Arctic animals. Both Lula and Sumi have produced fantastic books about their animals, including creative descriptions and even including connectives to join sentences together. Well done!

Ferdia in Lavender has shown some impressive skills in using excellent vocabulary in his wordbank for the Emperors Egg this week. He was able to improve his learning using his new found vocabulary, well done! Jake in Jasmine is in the Golden Book this week for consistently showing green behaviour, you’re an excellent role model to others, keep it up!

Ferdinand has made it into the Golden Book this week for trying really hard with his letters, he has been sounding out words carefully and forming the letters precisely, well done! Merve has been using lots of different strategies to help her to solve subtraction problems, keep it up!

Carl is in the Golden Book this week for trying so hard in all areas of learning. He has been making a huge effort and it has not gone unnoticed – keep it up! Lana has also been putting so much effort into her Maths learning and has excelled this half term! We are so happy that the year 1 children are progressing so well after the fantastic year that they had last year! Well done!

Well done to our fabulous children in Year 1 for making it to the end of a brilliant start to the year, making so much progress in their learning. Dylan in Lavender class is in the Golden Book this week for writing a fabulous new ending for the story Kumak’s Fish, using some super vocabulary to bring his writing to life. Matteo in Jasmine class is in the Golden Book for writing a fantastic story with amazing vocabulary and punctuation. Well done Matteo!
