Pupil selected to play for Islington District Team
A big congratulations to Zoë in Year 6, who has been selected to play for the Islington Girls District team. In her first tournament for the team, Zoë scored several goals, including a fantastic strike that would be a strong contender for goal of the tournament.
As well as her goals, Zoë showed great teamwork, determination and sportsmanship throughout the tournament. She also scored the winning goal in the final, helping Islington to beat Hackney 1–0!
Sports coach Jack Briley reflected on the achievement, saying: “Over the last few years, Zoë has worked incredibly hard in PE and football after-school clubs. Alongside this, she has trained several times a week with football teams, and her dedication, commitment, and perseverance have truly paid off. I couldn't be more proud!”
