Having worked successfully as a qualified teacher in a number of primary schools across the country, Laura worked for eight years within Bristol and Hackney Local Authorities as a Teaching and Learning consultant. In this role, Laura supported schools and staff with developing and improving practice in order to create the best possible provision for every child. These years of experience together with her NPQH (National Professional Qualification for Headship) enabled Laura to successfully take on the role of St John the Baptist C of E Primary School in Hoxton where, as Head of School, she led the transformation of the school from challenging circumstances to a much improved Ofsted rating last April of ‘Good’. Ofsted also reported that some features were ‘Outstanding’. Laura’s leadership was commended in the Ofsted report: “The school is exceptionally well led by the head of school, who, together with governors, has brought about significant improvement in the quality of teaching and pupils’ achievement since the previous inspection.”

“I have been so fortunate to be a part of opening and starting Whitehall Park School.  The last few months have been a hive of activity for the whole school team as we have embarked upon our exciting journey of securing Whitehall Park School as a real beacon of learning for our whole school community.   Parents, families, friends and staff have worked tirelessly together to bring to life our vision of ensuring that every child is given the tools, knowledge, skills and values necessary to thrive and so succeed within a safe, stimulating and welcoming learning environment where learning is fun, engaging and relevant.    The support of everyone involved so far in our journey has resulted in a remarkable sense of community, which is driven by our families who have successfully led and developed our Friends of Whitehall Park School.  Their commitment and dedication has seen a number of fantastic events for our children and wider school which have added to the exciting broad and balanced curriculum that the children enjoy within school and through trips, visits and visitors.   Learning really does come to life at Whitehall park, as we can see through our children’s learning journeys and the progress they are making in all aspects of learning.    Our aims for our school is to secure an ethos and culture of excellence that nurtures every child and provides them with the ambition to be a confident, inquisitive and well-rounded learner for life.  With the help, support and dedication of everyone involved, we are really seeing our vision come to fruition as Whitehall Park School continues to go from strength to strength. I am really looking forward to working alongside our amazing community over the coming months and years as we continue our relentless drive towards becoming an outstanding school.”
