We’ve had a tasting, baking bonanza in Year 3! An Islington chef visited the school to teach our Year 3 children all about the world of bread making and the science of taste buds! Linking to our Y3 topic of ‘Soup Kitchen’, the children learnt about all of the different ingredients and processes that go into making, proofing and cooking bread, as well as kneading and moulding their own dough into various, unique shapes. An exciting food sensory session also took place, where children were given the opportunity to taste and smell different kinds of food. They had to work out where, on the tongue, the taste buds are for sweet, sour, bitter and salty tasting foods!
