On Friday 25th September we celebrated our love of reading and the National day of celebration of the fantastic author, Roald Dahl by holding Dahlicious Day! Children were invited to come into school dressed as their favourite Roald Dahl character or as a favourite character by another author. We spent the morning in class sharing our story characters, reading extracts from books and doing a range of exciting activities including drama, music, arts and crafts and writing. The children in Reception classes focussed on ‘Fantastic Mr Fox’. They made fox masks and mini stories and recorded their learning using iPads. In Year 1, the children focussed on ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’. They worked in small groups to make their own chocolate factories by drawing designs and using a range of craft materials to create different effects. The outcomes from both classes were fabulous! Well done everyone!
