In Lavender class our theme for the Autumn terms is ‘Frozen’ . We have explored climate change and what it means to recycle, reuse and reduce as a community, all livings things in the Arctic and Antarctica, researched information about Emperor penguins and Whale migration and read stories about life in a ‘frozen’ environment; such as Kumak’s Fish and The Polar Bear. After half term we will be reading ‘Stick Man’ from the creators of the Gruffalo and going to Leicester Square to watch this story as a play on Broadway as a Year 1 cohort. We will also be looking at family trees in PSHE and how different cultures celebrate Christmas.
